Jean Baptiste Mazella of Mazella&Palmer’s salon creative haircut is a flat triangular layered shape with a fringe. The sectioning is simple to use on any texture or length, but it's the judgement of shape and angle for suitability which is key. In this example, Jean Baptiste uses a flat layered shape in the back area, which drops down using over-direction toward the back of the ear. This creates the flat triangular layered shape with a curved horizontal plane. This in turn allows him to control the over-direction throughout the side areas to his disconnected panel in the front hairline.
Jean Baptiste then works with the top internal shape throughout the side areas, which fits a slim square line maintaining length and weight through the perimeter, but flattens the internal shape. He then moves on to the top section, which is square layered over the front fringe area. Jean Baptiste maintains sufficient length in the front fringe outline to facilitate movement with soft internal lines and a rounded sweeping fringe. The result is a desirable salon friendly shape that's fluid, organic and elegant.
