Tracy Hayes' colouring tutorial is a three tier colour application following the graduation of Tim Hartley's Firefly Abstraction haircut. The first tier is coloured a soft charcoal grey. The second tier is a very strong violet from the round of the head to the hairline over the centre of the eye. For the final tier, Tracy applies a mixture of conditioner and violet pure pigment.

The result is a deep charcoal grey base framing a fine line of blonde with a vibrant splash of violet to emphasise the dynamic of the graduated line peeping out under a translucent veil of dusty violet.
