Dale Ted Watkins' salon basic men's haircut is a traditional short, back and sides look reminiscent of the 1950's Ivy League prep school fashion and crew cut. Dale first works through a clipper-over-comb technique in the sides and back areas demonstrating body position and comb angle, order of cut areas and placement of guidelines to achieve the square refined shape, with special emphasis on the connection of the top lengths and placement of corners as the key to the haircut. Dale uses elevation in the fringe with the comb and cuts in diagonal pieces throughout the area to break up the fringe and discover the hair's natural movement. This enables you to tailor the fringe area and refine the perimeter through the temple with a scissors-over-comb technique. The final result is a classic take on the Ivy League movement - prep school cool with echoes of Hollywood hipsters and quintessential American male fashion.
