Hester Wernert-Rijn's avant-garde tutorial uses a basket weave technique, a four strand braid, a rickrack braid, an application of extensions, the creation and placement of a chignons to create volume, back combing, the creation of various textures and how to choose colour and depth. All the techniques can be used as stand alone individual concepts or be combined.

The final result is a fusion of techniques and colour inspired by natural, organic forms to create an avant-garde fantasy hair look.
