Let Your True Colours Shine Through With Bruno Elorrioroz
Paris-born Bruno Elorrioroz has been in the business for 30 years. Globally renowned as a colouring genius, he’s worked with L’Oreal and Carita and is currently Colour Director of Aveda.
Dividing his time between editorial shoots and educating – not to mention regular bouts on the salon floor to ensure he’s stays at the cutting edge of the colouring world – there’s no one better placed to help you to upgrade your hair colouring skills. This week, we’re showcasing 5 of Bruno’s MHD tutorials to give you the inspiration and motivation to let your true colours shine through!
Fresh and fun, it’s the pearl blonde ombre
In the first of his featured tutorials – ideal for intermediate-level colourists – Bruno demonstrates the pearl blonde ombre.
First, you’ll need to unify previously bleached hair with a very natural pearl blonde. Next, create cascading texture by adding lowlights around the perimeter, not forgetting to use semi-permanent colour to bring deeper transparency to the root area.
With tips on everything from foil patterns and placement to weaving and correcting highlights, you’ll create a fresh and intrinsically girly look your clients will love.
Move with the times with the multidimensional melted balayage
Balayage is on particularly trend during the summer months, so it’s crucial to keep up with the latest variations if you want to enhance your reputation as a colourist worth regular visits.
With that in mind, our second featured Bruno tutorial is the multidimensional melted balayage – a mouthful and a must have!
With insight on colour range, triangular placement, saturation and foil placement, Bruno shows you how to create understated harmonious tones to set your clients’ summers ablaze.
Get vibrant with the red orange colour correction
Up next, the hair colour correction with red orange tones. In this tutorial for advanced colourists, Bruno shows you how to create a luxuriously dark blonde with rich red orange tones.
Start by removing colour and lifting pre-lightened areas to a red orange undertone, then apply sliced sections in the front area to add movement in the fringe. Next, apply a deep red orange base colour from the roots to the ends to create a vibrantly stunning finish.
Create rock chic glamour with the ombre hair variation
Are your clients embracing the rock chic vibe this summer? Then they’ll love the ombre hair variation taught by Bruno Elorrioroz in our fourth featured hair colouring tutorial.
Bruno shows you how to add a level 4 root application to ensure your client’s hair exudes health and vitality before placing bleach enlightener by hand through the mid-lengths and ends of the hair. You can opt for a light or strong coverage, depending on your client’s preference. Finally, tone it down with a soft honey gold semi-permanent colour to complete a glowing look your clients will love.
Unlock your potential with weft extensions
Last but by no means least, it’s time to get to grips with weft extensions.
Demonstrating the colour preparation of the extensions using a mosaic technique, Bruno’s lesson contains pointers on colour placement sectioning, multi-colour block tinting, cleanliness of application and rinsing.
The end result? A garland of gorgeously soft and natural tones.
