MyHairDressers.com has introduced a choice of video streaming speeds to allow better viewing of the hairdressing training videos on slow internet connections.

The hairdressing training videos can now be viewed with a choice of high quality or standard quality options, simply by selecting from the options above the video player. High quality videos play at the previous rate of 550 bits per second, while standard quality videos play at 330 bits per second.

Mark Butcher, CEO of MyHairDressers.com told us, “MyHairDressers.com is determined to bring the most affordable and best hairdressing education videos to every hairdresser in the world, no matter where they live. Not everybody has access to cheap high speed broadband and we want to give those with limited bandwidth or high data costs access to the same education as everyone else.

“Even users with a good connection will benefit from the new standard option, particularly at peak times or in households and businesses where multiple computers are sharing the same line. Our developers have worked hard to ensure the new lower bit rate version plays at an almost similar quality to the high quality video. In fact to an untrained eye, the difference is imperceptible.”

One of the most common problems for some subscribers is ‘freezing’ video streams, particularly at peak times on the internet, while users in some countries or using mobile devices pay for the amount of data downloaded. The new low rate video option will reduce data costs and provide an alternative during heavy usage times.
