News - Spring shoot begins

The MyHairDressers.com studio is gearing up for the Spring shoot, beginning next week. With a new dedicated in-house salon from Salon Ambience the studio is ready to welcome some of the UK’s best hairstylists to film an exciting series of hairdressing tutorials. 

We’ve received hundreds of requests from subscribers and we’ve selected the best to bring you all the hairstyles, shapes and hairdressing techniques that you really need and can use within your salon and training programmes.  

Stacey Broughton kicks the week off with three days of filming including Headblock Basic Haircuts, which have rapidly become a standard training tool for hairdressing students and assistants worldwide. Stacey will also be producing two beautiful commercial salon friendly looks anticipating the trends for the forthcoming year  

As a final treat, to coincide with the release of Vidal Sassoon:The Movie, Stacey is set to produce his own version of Vidal Sassoon’s 5-point haircut, the shape that revolutionised hairdressing and fashion in the 1960s. As the former Senior Art Director for the Vidal Sassoon Academy, we can’t think of anyone better to teach this classic haircut. Stacey will be joined by Charmaine Piche to add colour to his haircuts, including the popular and much requested balayage technique.  

Stockport College’s Graham Oglesby and Tracey Sajno return with some of their NVQ hairdressing students to demonstrate some beautiful salon shapes and colours, along with a variety of blow drying techniques, which again have been requested by our subscribers.  

Men’s hairdressing and barbering will be covered by rising star Sarah Astley of realhair, who’ll be making her MyHairDressers.com debut, with two men’s haircuts straight from the streets of London.  

The final days will be devoted to session styling and really offer something for everyone interested in preparing hair for photographic shoots, video or catwalk. John Vial of realhair and the amazing Callam Warrington return to share their extensive experiences in the editorial world and we have something really special planned. This will be editorial hair at the highest level.  

Throughout the week we’ll be interviewing the contributors, taking behind the scenes photographs and uploading to Facebook and Twitter as we go, providing you with exclusive access to the MyHairDressers.com Spring shoot as it unfolds.
