Sarah Astley's salon classic haircut tutorial starts by establishing a parting on the left hand side. The haircut then begins by taking an initial horizontal section just in front of the crown and cutting a square line

The right hand side area starts with an initial vertical section in the mid-area of the front hairline which is cut in a square line with slight elevation to produce a structured corner. Once the outline has been refined the two areas are connected with scissors-over-comb. 

On the right hand side in the back, the last side vertical section is used as a guide together with a subsequent back vertical section. The two sections are pulled back and cut in a square line. Once the back area is complete, refine the shape with scissors-over-comb from the perimeter to the mid-back area to achieve a classic men’s taliare - reminiscent of the iconic matinee idol.
