ONLINE HAIRDRESSING TRAINING AND EDUCATION FROM THE WORLD'S BEST HAIRDRESSERS

Release - Salon Creative Colouring

Text and Images by Jamie Harrison // Published Tuesday 15 November 2011

Charmaine Piche's salon creative colouring tutorial starts with a conical shape section on the parting with a curved back area. This is sub-divided this in to three areas as she works.

Charmaine then takes an initial diagonal section approximately three centimetres from the front hairline moving away from the parting to the back of the curve. Charmaine takes fine slices, placed in foil close to the root to ensure even lift and coverage. There are also sub-divided section in three areas which are pre-lightened throughout the top.

The final stage uses alternating four colour patterns working throughout the bleached sections with peacock green, violet, purple and blue semi-permanent pure pigments.

The combination achieves an understated array of petrol tones imparting subtle glints to the textured tendrils of Stacey’s cut.
