News - New crew members join MHD

The MyHairDressers.com in-house video crew is pleased to welcome two new members to its ranks, as Karen Lowe and Melissa Bourne joined us for the winter video shoot and will become regulars at future events and shoots.

Karen's voice will be already be known to MyHairDressers.com regulars, as she has done voiceovers for all of the training videos over the last three years. She has now extended her role to producer, and has proven an invaluable asset this week in ensuring the video shoots have run efficiently and smoothly. She has an extensive background in both live and video production with many years experience as a choreographer/producer at hairdressing events and shows around the world with many of the greatest hairdressers, as well as teaching in the UK's Higher  Education sector. Karen has been closely monitoring the shoot to ensure that all of the new videos confirm to NVQ standards prior to our new upcoming student product and that the accuracy of information is of the highest calibre.

Melissa joins us as our regular make-up artist and has quickly proved herself in this high pressure environment. Melissa caught the make-up bug as a young teenager, helping out on her brother's music video shoots and this year graduated from the London College of Fashion. Melissa has worked on a large number of music videos, BBC TV programmes, feature films and commercials and is one of the fastest rising stars of the London make-up community. 

Karen told us, "It is great to be in the hub of creativity in the shoot, supporting the process and our stars - I enjoy logistics and assisting the work to a higher level."

Melissa said, "This has been a brilliant week and I'm so happy with the models, videos and photographs. Everyone is so great to work with and I can't wait for the next shoot."
