Following the filming of John Vial's Half Head Rick Rack Tutorial we took model Caitlin into wardrobe and make-up to be made ready for an editorial style mood film shot and edited by Andrew Gilbert and Luke Knight. John of realhair and his assistants Paul, Kirsty and Billie along with makeup artists Aneka and Jinny and fashion stylist Victoria Higgs had spent a day on the overall look and we wanted to bring something special with the results. 

John told us, “Both looks I produced (the other was Rick Rack on a Wig) are based on a rick-rack technique, one using extensions, the other with a wig. I wanted to do something fashion editorial and theatrical. I also wanted to do something different that maybe people hadn’t seen before rather than something wearable, although with the rick-rack technique you could tone it down and do something less extreme.  

“They’re based on something our team did for American Vogue with Guido Palau but they use essentially use the same techniques and they definitely marry together, although they look very different.”
