News - MHD Create In Conference Report

My Hairdressers Ltd CEO Mark Butcher last week attended the first conference of the Create-In project, an EEC initiative to provide internet based E-Portfolios to workers in the creative services, including hairdressers, across Europe.

The conference, held in Maribor, Slovenia, brought together the consortium members for the first time to discuss the sharing of information and technology to allow the pilot scheme to launch with 10 e-portfolios that can be linked across social networks and easily allow workers and job seekers to showcase their work to potential employers. The project is designed to allow non-technically minded but creative workers to easily place their work online. Potential employers can, independently of time and geographical limits, evaluate the work of job seekers and decide whether to invite him/her to a personal meeting or even directly to work. Specifically, it will prepare a learning course and train the trainers that will teach and support students and job seekers in e-media presentation of their work and already acquired skills in the form of creativity e-portfolio.

This initiative is just a part of our plans in Europe. Our content mapping scheme has already been taken up by several education bodies across the EU and the Create-In project is set to strengthen our ties further within the community and continue to provide a positive force for hairdressers and the hairdressing industry."
