News - Winter Video Shoot Begins

The MyHairDressers.com Winter 2011 video shoot begins on Saturday, with an incredible 11 days of hairdressing tutorials covering all the bases. The shoot has been designed to deliver a range of hairdressing techniques suggested by our members, as well as all the colleges and government education bodies we're working with to ensure that hairdressers of all levels receive the very best education over the coming months.

The shoot begins with a weekend of barbering and men's hairdressing as Cobra Hair Academy's Creative Director, Sid Sottung joins us with some traditional shaving techniques and essential barbering. This is followed up on Sunday with more classic shaving, Turkish style as Salih Celebi flies in from Turkey to demonstrate alternative methods. Rounding off the weekend, the ever popular Dale Ted Watkins brings his particular brand of men's haircutting back the studio, updating 1950s style and grooming for the 21st Century.

Monday and Tuesday should prove to be immense days as Roy Hayward films an introduction to hair styling covering the foundations of classic hairdressing techniques from pin curling and finger waves to wind sets and knots and everything in between. If session is your thing, Roy is the man to watch.

Midweek sees the return of two of the hottest hairdressing educators working today, Mazella & Palmer - hot from the successes of their show at Paris Hair Days and tours of the Far East. Charmaine Piche will be on hand as well, to record a hair colouring tutorial with the boys.

Stacey Broughton will be flying back into the UK, mid week after a round of workshops in Denmark, and will spend four days adding to his popular Head block series, along with a range of contemporary, salon and classic shapes. Making her MyHairDressers.com debut is Louise Reeves, International Head of Education at Fudge who we're jetting in from the Netherlands to perform colouring tutorials on two of Stacey's haircuts.

Charmaine Piche will also be working with Stacey to demonstrate more of her fantastic hair colouring techniques, along with adding some essential basic head block techniques for juniors and students. As an additional treat we have a day filming with Diana Leake, one of the UK's most respected osteopaths, who will be demonstrating posture exercises to ensure salon professionals maintain tip top health.
