News - Winter Video Shoot - Days 1 & 2

The MyHairDressers.com winter video shoot began on Saturday as New York born Sid Sottung, Director of Cobra Hair Academy in Nottingham joined us in the studio to teach some essential barbering skills. He kicked off with a traditional wet shave before introducing a fade, followed up by a traditional short back and sides.

As an added twist to the proceedings we also featured a Turkish clean shave from Turkish barber Salih Celebi, who began training when he was just 8 years old! Salih showed a very different approach to barbering bringing in threading and eye brow trimming into the mix. Even if you have no intention of doing wet shaves, we highly recommend you watch these videos when they're released next year.

Sid told us, "It was amazing today. Lots of hard work but you have a great team here. I had two amazing models with totally different hair textures. For me it was not only a pleasure but a privilidge to show the techniques and to be one of the first educators to show the art of wet shaving on MyHairDressers.com."

Sunday saw the return of MyHairDressers.com favourite Dale Ted Watkins of City Boy, bringing a range of men's styles steeped in English heritage. Dale took us on a barbering journey as his model Curtis underwent three haircuts, from a basic layer to short back and sides before moving on to a short 'suedehead' crop. Each style bore Dale's trademark bespoke attention to detail and was individually tailored to Curtis' head features and growth patterns using a combination of scissors-over-comb and clippers-over-comb techniques.
