Long Disconnection

Dove Palmer of Mazella&Palmer’s salon creative haircut is a long disconnected shape combining under cutting and layering. It begins in the back area with vertical sections and over-direction to achieve a long layered silhouette, which works to create movement internally.

The side areas are layered horizontally using a guide from the back. Due to the extreme elevation, over-direction and finger angle, Dove builds a shape that extends the length in the front and behind the ear. The sectioning accommodates the weaker areas behind the ear and the front hairline.

Dove then adds an area of small disconnection to produce a small corner in the fringe area. This is cut square to allow the longer lengths in the top to fall over and to the side, achieving an extended slim elegant movement and tendrils, with framing contours that sweep the face allowing a bright freedom to elevate the shape.
