Bastian Casaretto’s salon classic haircut begins with a simple graduated steep angle in the front areas. Key to this technique are finger angles, over-direction and elevation. Bastian then defines the back internal shape by flat layering, with over-direction through to the side areas and back to maintain the established front outline, ensuring a soft, loose outline throughout the perimeter in the back.
Once the internal shape has been achieved, Bastian then softens the corners and connections with freehand techniques. This allows the movement around the perimeter and the internal shape to be consistent, giving this soft shape the swing it deserves.
